The current preference leans more towards stone being used as a flooring material, more often than not this is quartz. If the environment is looking for a more classical elegance granite and marble offer a more appropriate finish. In the case of quartz, if used in an area subject to direct sunlight, which retail outlets generally are with large display windows etc, the material could be subject to bleaching from sunlight.

If the retailer seeks a longer term flooring solution, that will not be ripped up within twenty four months of installation, granite would be a more suitable material as direct sunlight will not bleach the colour pigments within the material. The colours found within granite are mineral deposits dating back thousands of years whereas in the case of quartz these are man made colour pigments that do not offer the same level of longevity.
